Flat Heating Blankets

Custom Designed, Surface Heating Blankets offer an efficient way to apply heat large areas, using low watt density, efficient direct heat transfer. Smooth, consistent heat can be applied as an alternative to applying inconsistent spot heat with MGO style Calrods or MI Cable. 

Flat Heating Blankets are ideal for use on uninterrupted flat, cylindrical or conical shapes. With a thickness of approximately ¼ inch (7mm), the Heating Blanket may supply the heat, and external insulation may be applied over top. 

Construction may be two different techniques. First, for the larger blankets pockets can be sewn between layers of high temperature fabric. The HTS/Amptek® knitted, heat tape element is then pulled into the created pockets. The second method uses a direct stitching method to hold the element down to the liner. This technique is used for smaller blankets. The closure method is typically a robust hook strip, or an islet strip for lacing the Blanket in place. 

The materials of construction depend upon the temperature and environment of use. Below 500° F choices can include materials such as Teflon® and Silicone, which provide durability and some moister protection. High temperature Jackets, are constructed of safe fiberglass based fabrics with Nickel or Stainless eyelets or lacing hooks for attachment.
